Fall is here!

For my family, Fall doesn't really begin until we make our annual trip to the orchard to go apple-picking. Well, as of this weekend, Fall has officially arrived:
And there's no better way to celebrate my favorite season than to make Fall-themed cookies!

And while I was at it, I threw in a few Halloween themed cookies to get in the mood. :)

Fun with Animals

I stumbled upon a box of 50 animal shaped cookie cutters at the craft store, and little by little I'm going to try decorating each one. I started off with my own personal favorite, turtles!

I thought this elephant cookie cutter could be fun, and so I tried decorating it in two different ways. 1st, with a lot of detail and personality:
Then, something simpler. I think these would be fun for a baby shower:
Lastly, I wanted to see how frog cookies would look. I think they turned out to be cute and fun. :)
Now the question is, what should I try next??

Florida themed cookies

A dear friend/former boss of mine placed an order for Florida themed cookies, since she works for my alma mater, Ave Maria University which is located in Florida. It was the perfect opportunity for me to use my new flamingo cookie cutter, as well as an alligator cutter.
And because she still works in the Residence Life department, I threw a few of these in there as well. :)

New baby cookies

I absolutely LOVE decorating baby-themed cookies. Not only because they are absolutely adorable, but also because I just LOVE celebrating the gift of new life. I just love babies!! These were made for some friends of ours who just had their first baby, a little boy named Dominic Anthony.

Now if you think THOSE are cute, just check out the little man Dominic himself. Isn't he gorgeous?

Housewarming gifts

Good friends of ours recently moved into a new house, and I thought hey, what better house-warming gift than edible house cookies? I mean c'mon, really, can you think of anything better?

Baptism cookies

Being from a big Catholic family means that Baptism cookies are always in demand, which is great news for me since I love to decorate them. Such an occassion is truly worth celebrating with delicious, delicate cookies. :)

For baby Natalia's Baptism, I made little lamb cookies. Aren't they precious?

All packaged and ready to be shipped!

Superheros

While the majority of my cookies tend to be girly, every so often I try my hand at creating something a little more manly. You know, the sort of cookie that a guy wouldn't mind being seen eating in public. So with my husband as my inspiration, I made Spiderman.

And because I was so happy with how they turned out, I continued with the superhero theme but, as you can see, I couldn't help but make a girl version of them. :)

Flying friends

Whenever I decorate cookies it's inevitable that one idea will inspire me with another. If I make a batch of flower cookies, I can't help but make some butterflies and bumblbees because, after all, they do go together, don't they? Plus, a bee cookie that you can eat and enjoy is so much more appealing then a real bee, wouldn't you say?

Butterflies are also a lot of fun for me to decorate, and also very cheerful and whimsical:

Flower power

One of my favorite cookie cutters to decorate is the flower cut-out. It's the inner flower child in me, what can I say? I really enjoy decorating flower cookies because the possibilities of color combinations and patterns are endless, and no matter what you choose to do, the results are always beautiful to behold.

What are flowers without a cute little bumble bee?

Tea time!

I found a tea pot and tea cup cutter at the store, and just HAD to have them. So many ways to decorate them but this is what I came up with on my first try. For inspiration, I thought of my favorite kind of china; the classic white and blue kind that I remember seeing in Grandma's house. :)

What I love about these cutters is that they could be served for a grown up get together but also for a little girl's tea party. Either way they are girly and fun!

Wedding cakes

These sure were time consuming, but I love how fancy they are. I just wish they were real and I could have a slice...mmm yummy buttercream frosting!

Summertime and the livin's easy

I had a little fun with the summer shaped cookie cutters I found at the craft store. :)

Don't they just make you wish you were on the beach enjoying the sunshine and feeling the sand in between your toes?
And finally, a picture to show what provided the inspiration for the red polka dot sunglasses:

Birthdays

I am very lucky to live next to my sister for many reasons; one of which is that her children's birthdays provide me with many excuses to do cookie decorating! And because she has 8 children, this means that I get to make cookies very often. Here are some of my creations. For the princessy Elisabeth, I made girly princess cookies:

For Peter and Tommy, some simple birthday cookie cutters:
I really need to expand my boy-themed cookie cutter collection, but for now these will have to do. For the sophisticated Mary who turned 13, some lady bug cookies because after all, she is a lady now!
